What sparked your interest in being involved: Initially it was an interest in it’s tragic past (what we can do to help) and the entire continent of Africa which I was yet to set foot on. Having been there a few times I find it to be a beautiful country and I have developed relationships and enjoy working with the local staff at King Faisal Hospital.

Similar trips you’ve been on: Vanuatu (2002, 2004 & 2006), Rwanda (2006, 2007 & 2008), Papua New Guinea (2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009), Myanmar (2007, 2008 & 2009).

What you remember most from a previous trip: The camaraderie amongst the team, working with local technical staff, and getting to work on/resurrect extremely old medical devices that I’d otherwise only be able to read about!

Passions/interests: When I’m not working, I’m likely to be on a heart trip. When I’m not working and not on a heart trip, I’m likely to be travelling somewhere in the world collecting new stamps in my passport.
