What sparked your interest in being involved: I’m continually inspired through the involvement with the heart team over the years, and inspired by Russell’s leadership. It’s an opportunity to do some good while experiencing another country.
Similar trips you’ve been on: I was one of the three founders of Operation Open Heart, along with Russell and Rudi Morgan. I have been on OOH trips since 1986.
What you remember most from a previous trip: The camaraderie of the team, which has been incredible. There are always challenges across infrastructure, people, and supplies and I get a buzz from seeing a solution – I feel useless unless there’s a challenge to solve!
Passions/interests: Going to watch any live sporting event, and I also enjoy travel and reading (and annoying Dave).
